
NEIVA (2010 South American Championship) - Venezuela finished the Preliminary Round of the South American Championship with a 2-1 record after dominating Ecuador 104-43. The Venezuelans will wait for the result between Argentina and Colombia to know if they won Group B or finish in second place.
The Venezuelans won the first quarter 25-4 as Hector Romero led the way with 5 points. Then in the second quarter the reserves from Venezuela came out and maintained the level of play in order to dominate the half 51-14 and the third quarter 75-28. The Venezuelans shot 14-30 from three point range for 46%.
In the win Gregory Vargas had 17 points while Jesus Centeno, Hector Romero and Jesus Urbina netted 14 each.
Ecuador finished with an 0-3 record and their best scorer was Eduard Caicedo with 13 points.
