Centrobasket 12 - México ends with a victory

 

San Juan, Puerto Rico - México's team (2-2) ended their participation on Centrobasket 2012 with an easy victory 89-62 over Costa Rica (0-4), in a game held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico.

Omar Quintero made a jump shot and México started 6-0, with 8:40 of the first quarter. Orlando Méndez free throw increased the lead to ten points, 19-9, with 1:25. The period ended 21-11.
 
Mendez’s increased the advantage to 21 with a three-point shot, 36-15, with 8:45 of the second period. The half ended 44-27 in favor of the winners.
 
The lead increased to 70-45 with a jump shot by Jesús López with 31 seconds of the third quarter. Clifford Smith ended the period with a medium distance shot, to leave the score 70-47.
 
The biggest lead in the game, 89-59, came with a Héctor Hernández three-point shot with 43 seconds remaining to play.
 
Hernández led the México offense with 15 points; Paul Stoll added 13 and Gabriel Giron 10. For Costa Rica, Carlos Gabriel Quesada scored 14 points with 11 rebounds.
