Centrobasket 12 - Bahamas dominated by 54 points

San Juan, Puerto Rico - The Bahamas National Team (2-2) defeated 116-62 to Nicaragua (0-4), to keep alive their hopes of advancing to the second round to the Centrobasket 2012 and qualify for the FIBA Americas Championship 2013, in a game held at the Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Bahamas needs a victory from Cuba in the next game, to cause a three-way tie that would be resolved by "goal average". Bahamas defeated Cuba 81-68, while Panamá beat those 78-70. Mitchell Johnson led the Bahamas offense with 43 points and eight rebounds, Kadeem Coleby added 14, Taran Cox 13 and Eugene Bain 11. Johnson scored five of the first seven points of the Bahamas, for starting the match 7-2, with 8:07 of the first quarter. Cox Jordan closed the period 36-16 in favor of the winners. Nicaragua doesn't scored in the last five minutes of the third quarter and Bahamas expand their lead 88-45 after the first 30 minutes. Rudy Taylor was the best for Nicaragua with 15 points and Windell Sloan added 13.
