12SUD15- Argentina and Uruguay goes to the South American U15 Championship

Maldonado, Uruguay- In competitive matches in the fifth day of the South American U15 Championship for Men's Basketball, Venezuela won the fifth place, Colombia finished sixth, Paraguay seventh and Peru eighth.

In the first game of the battle, Paraguay beat Peru with score of 57-49. The best scorers for the national team of Paraguay were, with 16 points both, Jorge Martinez and Carlos Ciciolli, followed by Gustavo Arguello with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Peru for its part had Hernan Goicochea with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

In the second match of the day, Venezuela dropped Colombia in a hard crash that ended with a score of 66-61. The selections, which disputed the fifth and sixth place in the championship, had a first half which Colombia fought in emerged victorious 38-33. But a decisive came back from the Venezuelan team, returned the score in their favor in the last two quarters 33-23. Venezuela had Angel Blanco with16 points and 8 rebounds. Colombia had its best player Andres Deluque with 20 points and 6 rebounds.

The end of these first two games, gave way to the semifinal round of U15 Championship men’s, in which Argentina beat Brazil 73-30 and the host Uruguay beat Chile 61-35.

In the game, Argentina looked great in the hands of Christian Boudet with 16 points and 9 rebounds. And Brazil had Walisson Guilherme with 6 points and 1 rebound.

In the last match, Uruguay had three of their players scoring in double figures: Santiago Da Rosa with 16 points and 9 rebounds, Martin Revetria with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Federico Ramos with 11 points and 5 rebounds. The best player for the national team of Chile was Ignacio Herrera with 7 points and 5 rebounds.

U15 Championship Male’s Final

On this way, today Saturday, May 19, Argentina and Uruguay will compete for the South American Title and with these results they have their qualification to the FIBA Americas U16 Championship next year.

For its part, Brazil and Chile are fighting more than the bronze medal, because these two teams are looking for the ultimate seat available for this major continental championship.

The final of the Championship is been set as follows:

06:30pm – Chile vs Brasil
09:00pm – Uruguay vs Argentina
