Central Board of FIBA Americas

 

The Central Board is made up of the following members with a right to vote:

  1. President FIBA Americas
  2. Vice-President FIBA Americas
  3. Secretary General FIBA Americas
  4. Treasurer FIBA Americas
  5. Four members for North America:
    • Two members designated by USA Basketball.
    • Two members designated by Canada Basketball.
  6. The Presidents of the Zone Commissions who do not occupy the Vice President of the period, designated by their corresponding Congresses.
  7. Four members for each of the Zones, South American, Central American and the Caribbean, designated by the presidents of the corresponding zones and ratified by their corresponding Congresses.
  8. The Members of FIBA Americas, which are part of the Central Board of FIBA.
  9. The Presidents of the Commissions: Technical, International Competitions, Legal Matters, Statutes and Regulations, Eligibility, Finances and Budget, Youth Basketball, Basketball Academy, Women Basketball.

The following are also members of the Central Board, but do not have a right to vote:

  1. The Deputy Secretary General and the Secretaries Adjunct.
  2. The Ex-Presidents of FIBA Americas, after the expiration of their terms as Presidents.
  3. In each period of 4 years the Members of America who were part of the Central Board of FIBA in the previous term.

The Executive Committee

  1. The Executive Committee is an organ composed of the President, the Vice President, the General Secretary, the Treasurer and the President of the Zones do not occupy the Vice Presidency.
  2. The Executive Committee will work according to that delegated by the Central Board (except art. 12, 27 and 31, inc. a), n) and o) of the FIBA Americas Statutes) and urgent matters and its decisions will be ratify in the first meeting of the Central Board.
  3. The Executive Committee will meet each time that the Secretary General calls it, in coordination with the President or by half plus one of its members 3 times a year minimum.
  4. The agreements of the Executive Committee will be considered with half plus one of the votes of its present members. In case of tie, the President decides.
